The meeting

meside

It was a part of my life before. When I was saved, I told it to beat it and get behind me. It's powerful, underestimated at times but doesn't even come close to the might of The Father. Yet, it gets to us humans and sinners. It brings the worst out of us. It's brought the worst out of me before. I try not to allow it to get to me. But just as I meet God, I meet it too. I've scoffed and brushed it aside before. Sometimes I triumph and enjoy victories against it. There are also times where I fail. Today was one of those days. I met it. It got to me. I allowed it to get to me. I am angry. Very angry. But I shouldn't be, otherwise it'll get to me again. Our meetings are brief mostly, I think. I won't forget the meeting. I have a score to settle with it. I have another meeting now. I'm going to tell The Father. I need help. Lord, help me. I may not be able to stop meeting with the devil, but give me the strength to ward off it's attacks.
Who am I? What am I? I struggle with this every day. I blame me. I blame my weaknesses. I blame my deficiencies. Lord, save me...

being a christian is all about challenges and temptations. the difference is that we have our Father on our side. He is our rock in times of need, our tower of strength. He that is in me is greater than he that is in the world. Temptations and our 'adam' nature is inherrent in our make-up as living, thinking, feeling beings. God gives us the strength to b overcomers. We are overcomers. Dont be angry at yourself. Call on Him in your time of need and He would give you the strength to carry on.

Thanks D.. It's even tougher when the temptation isn't the common kind of temptation. And the temptation doesn't come in the form of a woman or something. It's something within yourself which you don't want unleashed but it gets unleashed coz it's lured out by the evil one. That's tough. But i'll work on it and get by..

Tough temptations and sin help us to realise that we really need grace and that grace is there. Otherwise we just talk about grace. We need to know how sh---y we are to realise just how much God loves us.

Thanks jedibaba, I totally agree with you although a young padawan like me struggles to go head on with these challenges. Heck, I mean no one is exempted from it, even seniors go through it. But I agree, only by God's Grace do we realize just how much He loves us despite us feeling like crap.

Jedi master DB is correct. In fact the older you get the more sophisticated you may get at explaining away your sins.
Your honesty with God, yourself and others is healthy though uncomfortable.
Keep the heart soft. God is nearer to you than you realise.

Thank you Jedi Masters =) God indeed is near. I struggle, as everyone does, and I fall too but I do not stay fallen. Really appreciate the advice and reactions to this blog entry. Jedi Master Sivin's been a good help and mentor.
