I'm sure we all had our aspirations when we were tiny tots. Most of us wanted to grow up to be firemen, policemen, doctors, engineers, businessmen etc. It wasn't just an American thing. I remember being asked the same question, and I remember it being the same here in Malaysia; we used to say, "When I grow up, I want to be a..."
James and I, are so far for me, the ones who have the most 'unusual' aspirations. I use the quote-unquote for the term unusual because the people whom we wanted to be aren't actually unusual, but rather unusual because during our time, the occupations we wanted to have weren't exactly befitting the ambitions of people of our generation, or at least not what our parents and our society brainwashes us to want.
James? He wanted to be a FARMER =)
I actually think that's really cool. People just don't wanna be farmers no more.
Me? I wanted to be a...urm..LORRY DRIVER =)
Hahaha! Yeah laugh if you're reading this and laughing. Go ahead. Many of my friends have already heard this story before. I really loved lorries and tractors as a boy. Most boys do I think, but to want to be a lorry driver? Now that's something I don't remember hearing often. Well, I can't remember when but those feelings disappeared a long time ago. In all fairness though, I do feel that the profession of being a lorry driver is underestimated and discriminated against. It's not easy being one, well a proper lorry driver that is. Takes a lot of skill and some training. It's a respected profession in the States, not sure if it is here in our home country though.

What did you want to be when you were a kid? Pop my your answers in my comment box =) It'd be great to hear from whoever reads my blog! Let's all have a good laugh about it, don't be shy!
Oh, and in case you're wondering, I do realize that the 1st picture isn't a lorry but a train. I just like the colors so much, it's so child-like and pure. Looking at that little toy just brought out the boy in me. I'm just a little boy in a old man's frame. Sigh...

hand in our life.
Kudos to space. Maybe I can still make it up there.
